Merry Christmas Carols - Robert Rheims

Away In The Manger / I Saw Three Ships

Merry Christmas Carols
Robert Rheims
Organ - Chimes
Rheims Records LP 6006
1958

From the back cover: Robert Rheims, America's foremost Christmas Carol recording artist, has for years devoted his time exclusively to the study, research and recording of Christmas music. His interest in Christmas songs began during a tour of Europe when he visited the magnificent cathedral in Reims, France. Here was a building of ageless beauty with universal appeal to all who gazed upon it, and, like all other churches, dedicated to the good of mankind all over the world. He felt that music too had universal appeal – and properly employed could be dedicated to express the true spirit of Christmas on modern phonograph records. By recording the old and sacred carols which have been handed down by the people of many lands through the ages, he hoped, perhaps in some small way, his musical talents might serve to help others to enjoy these old and beautiful melodies and – ring out a joyous Christmas to all.
