From the back cover: Audrey Barger was born at Bear Branch, Kentucky, just a short distance from Hyden in Leslie County. She and her ten brothers and sisters grew up listening to the Blue Grass music of the Stanley Brothers, Wilma Lee and Stoney Cooper, and the late Lester Flatt. This early and continual exposure to the old songs and her natural ability are reflected in her style of singing. She sings country Blue Grass with a traditional flavoring developed while living in the mountains of Kentucky. Blended with this traditional flavoring is a contemporary Blue Grass sound, which has resulted from playing with some of the finest Blue Grass musicians in Southwestern Ohio.

Audrey Barger is one of the few women in Blue Grass music to devote full time to her music. This album is the first of several she plans.

Audrey Barger and The Audrey Barger Band play in and around the Greater Cincinnati area, with Oxford, Ohio, as home base. I am sure you will enjoy this album. – Red Allen
