Johnny Kay
Promenade 2110
From the back cover: Johnny Kay – Here is a talent that is rare indeed in voice so young. Johnny, twenty-six years of age, but evidently a vintage year, interprets these songs – old and new – with warmth and vigor seldom experienced.
Here is another Johnny Kay album: The Spirit Of Italy

Thank you very much for posting this! Do you have all the songs on this album in a playlist? Do you know what year this was from? I have been researching him for years but haven't had much luck. However this is what I know about Mr. John Kaminsky. Who is Johnny Kay? He goes by other names such as Johnny Cole or Kaye, Gene Martin and Damon King. He is a wonderful crooner from the golden age of cheap red vinyl Christmas albums. He is better than Perry Como and deserves to be recognized. So Mr. John Kaminsky from Chicago, please let us know how you are doing and where you are at. You are probably in your mid 80's by now. Please know that you have many fans! Check out his Johnny Kay facebook page and LIKE IT!

Hello,
ReplyDeleteJust an update to my post above about this wonderful crooner. His name is not John Kaminsky from Chicago (false information). His name is Johnny and Kay (sometimes spelled Kaye) is his stage name. He recorded a lot of Christmas, Italian, and Hymns under the Crown, Promenade, and Spinorama labels in the 1950's and early 1960's. To find out more please LIKE the Johnny Kay Facebook page and request his friendship. Let's continue to commemorate his wonderful crooner!
