Night Sounds and Crickets – Santa Susanna and Hollywood foothills of Southern California. Steam Locomotive Whistle Echos from The Reader Railroad, Reader, Arkansas, steam powered, mixed passenger-freight operation, deep in the piney back woods of southwestern Arkansas.

About The Mystic Moods - The first MM album, "One Stormy Night," was an overwhelming debut success. The concept was new, different and delightful – combining magnificent music with familiar sound effects, rain, trains, the orchestra of nature. But, to no one's surprise, this was not a one-time hit. Time and again this phenomenal pairing has produced acclaimed albums.

For this recording, the mixture is as before. Just as exciting, just as intriguing a listening experience. and while what's in store should no longer be a surprise, you're sure to enjoy the thrilling new selections, many taken from famous films.

The emphasis here is on the universal emotion, LOVE. Never has the romantic theme been so eloquently presented. Forget about other sendoffs to the romantic state. All you really need is love, Mystic Moods-style.

About The Studio - Romanticism aside, the secret of the intimate sound of The Mystic Moods is the thirty-one talented musicians and one recording studio: Gold Star Recording Studio A, in Hollywood – the birthplace of the smash hits performed by Sonny and Cher, The Buffalo Springfield and Herb Albert, to name just a few, and Engineer Stan Ross who caught the message that was written and transmitted by one of the most gifted arrangers and conductors in today's music world, Don Ralke.

About The Recording Equipment - All of the music for this album was recorded on a Scully 8-track, solid state recorder. Neuman, Eletro Voice, Song, RCA and Senhauser microphones were used.

A special modified stereo tape deck, solid state, and AKG and Neuman SM-2 microphones were used to record all of the sound effects on location, via portable battery and converter for remote electrical power.

Organ Sounds & Percussion - Eddie Layton

Ebb Tide

Organ Sounds & Percussion
Eddie Layton
f:35d Perfect Presence Sound
Mercury Records PPS 6029
1962

From the inside cover: The days of shimmering organ sounds reverberating through massive movie palaces are all but over, but the talented practitioners of this memorable art form happily still have outlets enough to convey their inimitable message. Take young Eddie Layton, for instance. As an organ missionary, Layton has spread the gospel all over the country for the Hammond Organ Company, doing his own bit to perpetuate acceptance of the instrument. In between he has sandwiched a series of globe-girding concert tours. The traveling organist also is a fixture on CBS radio. Should that term of employment suddenly evaporate (a highly unlikely possibility, judging from his current vast audience), Layton plans to insure his own perpetuity. He intends to buy a radio station of his own and lure thousands of new admirers with the sounds of Layton on records. For the impatient listener (who can't get enough of Layton on radio or anywhere else), Mercury presents a penetrating potpourri of Laytonia herein. This dazzling runs, inspiring lyricism and abundant originality all are preserved in this handsome hardworking on the Hammond.

Yes, you are looking at an autographed copy of Organ Stop Pizza. Terrific cover of Rhodes (not a stunt double) fearlessly perched on top of a step ladder in front of the Organ Stop Pizza

Organ Stop Pizza is an actual operating pizza parlor located in Mesa, Arizona.  They still engage excellent organ artists to entertain guests.

Never in my life would I have guessed this record, found in an antique store, would amount to more than  an oddball event lost to history. Now I know that some good things in life persist and feature a salad bar!
