From the back cover: In this recording, Emanuel Vardi and His Orchestra have captured some of the romance and color of South America in such famous melodies as "Frenesi," "El Relicardio," "Estrellita," "La Golondrina" and "La Paloma." Vardi, known internationally as an outstanding violinist, is today almost equally renowned as a conductor. He has conducted at Carnegie Hall as well as in Europe. More recently he has championed and conducted concerts of music by modern composers in New York. he makes his debut on the Decca label as the leader of his one orchestra of specially chosen musicians.
