Cha-Cha-Cha If You Please - Manny Lopez

Dejenme Bailar
Cha-Cha-Cha- If You Please
Manny Lopez and His Orchestra
RCA Victor LPM-1409
1957

From the back cover: If any artist can be considered an ideal exponent of the cha-cha-cha, Manny is the man. Born and reared in the United States, his Mexican ancestry gives him an hereditary of love of Latin-American rhythms. The love lured Manny to the Conservatory of Music in Mexico City, after two years in the Far East with the United State Navy.

The three years of extensive study in Mexico City, combined with his early American environment to make Manny a true cosmopolite of Latin-American music. In 1950 he organized a five-piece combo that was the forerunner of the driving beat of the Lopez band of today.
