I was ready to pass on this one, thinking just another collection of musty ‘50s ho-hum. I’m glad I listened. No, there’s no soul-wrenching, electrifying music by today’s standards here. But it’s packed with great original version of tunes you’ve probably heard but may not recall. Some are enduring classics (Misty, Caravan), and most should be, but are victims to contemporary tastes. The recording in mono is well done, with sound-levels balanced, and the mixes are just right.
