A Product of Decca Records
1958

From Billboard - October 27, 1958: Here's a fine collection of sides recorded by the Les Brown crew when he was cutting sides for Decca Records a few years ago. The band swings just as it always did and the sound is good. Tunes include "My Heart Belongs To Daddy," "If I Love You," and "Red Sails In The Sunset." There are instrumentals and vocals in the set, with the vocals handled by Such Ann Polk and Ray Sims. A bargain package for fans of the Les Brown ork.

If I Loved You - vocal by Ray Sims (as noted on jacket but no vocals are featured on this track)

60s Style - 101 Strings Orchestra

Days Of Wine And Roses
60s Style
101 Strings Orchestra
Alshire STERE 5335
1976

From the back cover: Have you ever thought about the value and age of the instruments in the "101 Strings" Orchestra? It is a remarkable fact that the music made by the 20th Century's finest recording orchestra, the "101 Strings" is produced on instruments many of which are over two hundred years old. The violins – the violas – the celli of this magnificent orchestra represent some of the finest examples of the great master luthiers of Cremona. Superb specimens by Stradivarius, Amati, Guadagnini and Guaneri are in the "101 Strings" Orchestra. The orchestra is unique in having examples from the complete Guaneri family – Andreas Guaneri (born 1626) and his two sons Peter and Joseph and their two sons, also named Peter and Joseph. This is truly incredible! The Concert Master plays an instrument made by the Cremonese master violin maker Joseph Del Gesu of the year 1735. Although it is difficult to put a price on a work of art, this violin alone is valued at $80,000.00. The estimate value of the stringed instruments in the "101 Strings" Orchestra is over a Half Million Dollars ($500,000.00). To this fantastic collection of gem instruments, add the ingredients of genius and creative artistry and technical skill from Europe's finest first chair musicians and Alshire presents...

The Intimate Miss Christy
June Christy
Produced by Bill Miller

Capitol Records T1953

From the back cover: Meaningful and feelingful these performances are – not alone for June Christy's expressive way with a ballad, but also for the imaginative assistance of Al Viola's guitar and for the subdued but inventive bass line provided by Don Bagley. And whenever Bud Legge's shining flute enters the scene, it serves as a perfect complement to June's vocal magic.
