Swing Hi Swing Fi - George Siravo

Some Of These Days
Swing Hi Swing Fi
George Siravo And His Orchestra
Vik LX-1125
1958

From the back cover: He (Siravo) knew where he was going at all times so he was able to accept the ideas formulated by others, let them sit and soak for a while and later bring them forth in a pattern that was individualistic and fresh. For source material, Siravo had the best the band business had to offer at the time. He played with bands led by Glenn Miller, Jan Savitt and Artie Shaw and he wrote arrangements for Charlie Barnet, Gene Krupa, Benny Goodman and the late greats Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey.

From Billboard - February 17, 1958: A dozen truly great standards, done by Siravo with such verve that they sound fresh and new. Repertoire includes "Sweet Sue," "Mary Lou," "My Gal Sal" etc. Notes by Mike Gross catch the spirit of the performances. Excellent sound and engineering.
