Sounds In Space
RCA Victor - 1958
Terrific atomic age artwork on this RCA project that was produced to demonstrate the audio dynamics of new fangled stereo players.
i truly adore these 'stereo demonstration records', especially when they have moving ping-pong balls and passing trains in them!
must have been quite a gas at the time, bragging about your brand-new expensive hifi equipment to less fortunate friends with records like these ... :-)
this album is extremely hard to find - so too bad your copy isn't up for us to grab (now THAT would certainly have made mah day, today).
I found one of these in the trash outside my apartment in near-mint condition. I grabbed it for the sleeve art, but the record is actually pretty neat and made for some great samples.
Ah! Such a shame! I ran out and bought it because of the cover! Still, great atomic art.
ReplyDeleteReally? Well from an historical audiophile standpoint... you might find the recording interesting!
