The Breeze And I
Laurindo Almeida
Produced by Sonny Burke
Warner Bros. - Seven Arts
1969
I pulled this one out of the "electronic music" bin at a record store I frequent. The notes mention Almeida's "electronic classical guitar" and hints around that he's studied the work of John Cage.
This "electronically-influenced" album is a pleasant and interesting (and sometimes curious) blend of classical and period light jazz/pop/Latin along with, what seems to me... a very subdued "electronic" vibe as mentioned in the notes.
The Breeze And I
My Reverie
Till The End Of Time
The Lamp Is Low
Baubles, Bangles And Beads
Full Moon And Empty Arms
Moon Love
My Prayer
My Moonlight Madonna
Our Love
When I Write My Song
Theme From The Warsaw Concerto
I now have a copy of this recording, it is beautiful! :)

ReplyDeleteComo faço o download?
ReplyDeleteMark, this album doesn't seem to be available for purchase anymore. Unfortunately, It's not available in lossless quality online either. Is there any way you could upload the whole album in FLAC format? I really like this, but can't find a high quality source.
ReplyDeleteThank You!
Hi Mark, I hope you're doing well. Is there a way for donwloading full albums within your blogs? I've really tried everything I could think of in order to do that but couldn't find a way so I thought that either all links could be broken or that I was doing something stupid. Congratulations for the wonderful work of sharing such gems. I have a lot of rare brazilian music files here too so if you happen to be looking for something you cant find on the internet feel free to message, there's always a chance that I'll have it. Kind Regards, Felipe
ReplyDeleteHi Felipe! Thank you for your questions. For a good number of reasons I have posted only a very few complete LPs on my blog. Downloads are not available. Thank you for the offer to share, but with so many albums that I have on hand and have yet to process, I don't really have the time . Also, sharing can be problematic due to the number of requests and there are other issues that come along with sharing, so I just avoid the practice. Sorry! – Mark
DeleteThanks a lot for the quick reply Mark I perfectly understand your point
