Hawaiian Record Mystery - Covers

Over time I've collected the following Hawaiian albums. As I listened to them I began to take note of several songs that I had heard before. So I referred back to early posts on my blog and noted that the recordings are all the same. Somehow, all of these labels pressed the same set, changed the name of the group or artist and repackaged the material.

  1. In addition to this set of recordings, there are two other, a small combo, the other, a large orchestra... total of 3 different studio groups that were hashed & rehashed, combined in different combinations using different group & song title names. These are all on the budget labels that were sold in drugstores & grocery stores. I collect Hawaiian/Exotica records and have about 100 of these budget label recordings in my collection 7 STILL run across a "new" one now & again.

  2. Thanks for your comment John! I think I only noticed this "batch" because several tracks on this album(s) are so distinctive. Otherwise I may not have noted the duplication.

Howdy! Thanks for leaving your thoughts!
