From the back cover: For his debut album on MGM Records, Johnny Tillotson selected a fine program of popular songs that are among the biggest hits of the last few years. And in every case he has brought to these songs a personal warmth and grace of style that make them seem brand new. Talk Back Trembling Lips is, of course, Johnny's own big hit. It was his first MGM single release, and it soared to great heights of popularity shortly after it was issued, and remained popular through the end of 1963 and seemed headed into more popularity in 1964. Johnny's wide range of vocal talent brings a refreshing, lyrical treatment to the familiar new hit Blowin' In The Wind, while the catchy Danke Schöen is a swinger, all the way. There are many more, including the perennially popular Blue Velvet and I Can't Stop Loving You, for example, that take on a new glow with Johnny Tillotson. It's that kind of album. He's that kind of singer.
