Now Hackett returns to his earlier love, with seven astute supporters, and the result is good commercial Dixieland. True, the raw, wilder edges of the classic form have been tapered and smoothed, but names like Nappy Lamare, Nick Fatool, Matty Matlock and Jack Teagarden (who does his classic vocal on "Basin Street,") add polish to this well-waxed package. Activity aplenty seems sure for this one.
