Although there are a few smooth easy tracks on the album which better suit Kenney's "style", I'd thought I feature his attempt at doing a pop flavored number.

From the back cover: This album represents Jimmy's first offering as a solo artist and we think that you will be pleased with the results.
Jimmy is a native of Evansville, Indiana and during his childhood, lived in the same house with one of the finest saxophone players in the country today – Boots Randolph. Jimmy said, that many times when he was practicing the guitar downstairs, as a young man in his teens, he could hear Boots laying down a mean horn in the apartment above. With these two fine musicians, it must have been the "swingingest" house in town. As their individual careers progressed, both went their separate ways, musically, for a few years, and when Boots returned to his native city to entertain in a small supper club, Jimmy soon joined him. Since that time Jimmy has been a permanent member of Boots Randolph's musical group and appears with Boots on all of his national television appearances and concerts.

Fun budget Tops cheesecake cover featuring bored dancers and a guy possibly borrowed from the Tops marketing department to play the "Sultan".
I'm assuming this is Gustave Stern as credited on the back cover.
The obscure pressing I found is a clean one (sometimes Tops pressings have issues), so I decided to present the entire LP here for those who might enjoy this bit of history.

This could be my favorite F&T "experimental" album from their early catalog of LPs, including Sound Blast and Sound Proof. The set plays through to create a conceptual tapestry of music that reflects the dramatic "heavenly" vibe of the cover art.

From the inside cover (gatefold): It took considerable experimentation, but they finally did it. The biggest studio in Hollywood was used. Using twelve microphones, the engineers strung the brass men out over an area half the length of a city block in order to get the essential instrumental isolation and separation. This helped the engineers (Bill Putnam) solve one of their problems but it created a different one for the musicians because, when they were strung out in this fashion, it was extremely difficult for them to play together. But the musicians licked their problem just as the engineers licked theirs and the result, as Fielding has declared with great satisfaction, is a masterpiece of accomplishment, both musically and scientifically.

From the back cover: A word about the dauntless leader of the American Patrol himself. James Last was born in Bremen, Germany, a town noted more for its shipyards than musicians. Nevertheless, by the time short pants were exposing his dimpled knees, James Last was knocking hell out of the family piano and, after three years of lessons, ticking off the classics with remarkable ease. Sent to music school when he was fourteen, he hung around long enough to absorb a foundation of theory and harmony, than exited dragging his favorite instrument, the bass behind him. Turning on with jazz, he grooved for a while with hometown groups, and from 1950 to 1953 won hands down the title of top bass player in the prime German jazz poll. He organized his first band at Radio Bremen, and after some local success quit the so-called sticks for a crack at the big time of Hamburg. There, with the lighting speed of a slick white Porsche, his career took off. Arranging and conducting for some of the top talents in Europe. Writing smash songs such as Games That Lovers Play. Hitting solidly with his one and only American Patrol.
