The Mystic Moods Of Love Orchestra
The Mystic Moods Of Love
The Mystic Moods OrchestraPhilips PHS 600-260
1968
You can read all about Brad Miller and Mystic Moods on Space Age Pop.
Miller combined sound effects with his brand of mood. Rain effects starts off this LP and Miller let's it storms all the way through the LP. According to the notes Miller recorded these effects just for this project. At first I thought all the rain would be annoying but the layering of music and sound effects creates a pleasant and interesting mood. The sound effects help blend one track into another. The blending of tracks is an appealing technique that creates more of a single soundscape.

Organ Sounds & Percussion - Eddie Layton
Ebb Tide
Organ Sounds & Percussion
Eddie Laytonf:35d Perfect Presence Sound
Mercury Records PPS 6029
1962
From the inside cover: The days of shimmering organ sounds reverberating through massive movie palaces are all but over, but the talented practitioners of this memorable art form happily still have outlets enough to convey their inimitable message. Take young Eddie Layton, for instance. As an organ missionary, Layton has spread the gospel all over the country for the Hammond Organ Company, doing his own bit to perpetuate acceptance of the instrument. In between he has sandwiched a series of globe-girding concert tours. The traveling organist also is a fixture on CBS radio. Should that term of employment suddenly evaporate (a highly unlikely possibility, judging from his current vast audience), Layton plans to insure his own perpetuity. He intends to buy a radio station of his own and lure thousands of new admirers with the sounds of Layton on records. For the impatient listener (who can't get enough of Layton on radio or anywhere else), Mercury presents a penetrating potpourri of Laytonia herein. This dazzling runs, inspiring lyricism and abundant originality all are preserved in this handsome hardworking on the Hammond.

This LP has a bit of a "hollywood soundtrack" flare to it. Korjus did work in a number of films. She was nominated for the Academy Award For Best Supporting Actress for her first film appearance in The Great Waltz (1938).
Of note, in 1944 or thereabouts she settled in Los Angeles and founded Venus Records so that she could release her earlier recordings.
Enjoy!
