Released on the same label that publish Korla Pandit LPs, Yambu is a "folk/jazz" music album packaged to appeal to exotica buyers.

Ramon "Mongo" Santamaria was an Afro-Cuban Latin jazz percussionist. He is most famous for being the composer of the jazz standard "Afro Blue", recorded by John Coltrane among others.

This record is one of his first and one of six that can be found on the Fantasy label.

Other artists working with Santamaria as pictured on the back cover include, Modesto Duran, Francisco Aguabella, Carlos Vidal and Pablo Mozo.

  2. A friend of mine just got this on vinyl. I'd like a digital copy. Maybe i'm dense but after reading your sidebar I don't see a dl link nor does it seem that this is on CD (according to discogs). Pls help if you can with a rip.

    1. At this point, I can't remember why I decided not to post a sample. However, check out "Afro Roots" on Amazon. Many, possibly all of the tracks might be included on this collection.
