  1. I bet that kid went on to Broadway or at the very least became a Lounge Lizard!I'm pretty upset I let that Bloomfield High School record go. That would have been fun to have a NJ high school in your collection.

  2. OH thanks! But you never know... so many of them are marching band... choral... just horrible stuff... the "jazz" class offerings are a good bet and, again... anything with solo work in them.

  3. I was an original member. Class of 1967, talk about the way-back machine. That was Jim's first year as vocal music teacher at Benson High. I remember doing Jim's own arrangements of some jazz pieces. Little Dave huh? I was the bass, he was the 1st tenor in the barbershop quartet that year. We did The Music Man for the Musical play that year. Jim (and Mel Olson)convinced me go to UNO (then University of Omaha)as a vocal music major. I was a member of the Omaha All-City High School chorus. I can't recall if anyone else from Benson was in that group. I think OPS disbanded the group a few rehearsals into prep for The Creation. We were an oratorio group and did perform The Messiah earlier that year both in Omaha and at UNL.
